Summary of report week: USGS is listing 23 events, EMSC is listing 23 events and GFZ Potsdam is listing 23 events. You can view each of these listings below. There were no active category force storms during the week of the report. Max 5 actively erupting volcanoes on any one day out of 6 during the week, over and above the 17 always erupting.
Using converted magnitudes (mb to Mw etc) USGS converts to 76 events and EMSC converts to 83 events. Potsdam events cannot normally be converted as the scale is not always known.

The charts are all slight departures for M6, 7 and 8 with respect to averge energy since a reader kindly pointed out that there appeared to be an error in the values. Whilst the error pointed out was concerned with the number of weeks used to calculate the rolling per quake energy value for Mag 8 quakes, this led to the realisation that there was a slight discrepancy in the way the mag 6 and mag 7 average energy values were calculated.

The effect of the corrections has been to lower the average value per quake in each band slightly. Mag 5 quakes were unaffected by this error.
